Evening Call newspaper, March 16, 1897 - "Lee Blanden (sic), a piano player at the Monte Carlo dance hall at Balmoral, dropped dead this morning from heart disease brought on by excessive dissipation. He was well known in Lead, among the sporting fraternity, having performed on the piano at the various dance halls in this city."

Evening Call, March 17, 1897 - "The body of Lee Blanden, the piano player who dropped dead at the Monte Carlo in Balmoral yesterday morning, is now lying at Smith's undertaking parlors, awaiting instructions from relatives in Canada. Blanden is said to be well connected."

Evening Call, March 18, 1897 - "The funeral of Lee Blanden, the deceased piano player, was held this afternoon from the Episcopal church, Archdeacon Ware officiating. Dispatches from his relatives instructed that the funeral be held here. Blanden came here from New London, Wis. three years ago."

Evening Call, March 19, 1897 - "The funeral of Lee Blandin, which was said to have been held yesterday, was postponed until the afternoon, when services were held at the Episcopal church, Archdeacon Ware officiating. Interment was made in South Lead cemetery."

The 1870 United States Census finds Lee Blandin, age 5, residing in Iola, Waupaca, Wisconsin with his parents, Monroe Blandin (age 25) and Evaline Blandin (age 21). The document notes that his father was a grocer (born New York) and that his mother was also born in New York. Also included in the household were two brothers, Frank 3 and Adolph 4 months.

At the time of the 1880 Census, Lee Blandin, age 15 (born Wisconsin) was residing with his parents Monroe and Eveline in New London, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Included in the household were three siblings - Adolf (sic) age 11, Charly (sic) 9 and Violet 6.
