Stockton native SFC Noel D. Thomas (Ret.), age 77, passed away peacefully in Sheridan, AR on Nov. 5, 2010 from complications of pneumonia. Noel was born on Jan. 17, 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana and grew up in Stockton. After graduating from Stockton High School, he enlisted in the US Army. His Army career spanned 23 yrs, during which he saw combat duty in Korea and Vietnam. He also spent another 20 years working for the U.S. Civil Service. He was proud to have attained the Pilgrim Degree in the Loyal Order of the Moose and served as a State Officer, as well as Lodge #391 Governor.
Survived by three sons [David George, Kevin Dean and Gerald Clark], 10 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren, and brother, Delbert "Max" of Richland, TX.
Noel was preceded in death by his wife of 46 yrs, Karen; daughter Rhonda; and sister Cleo.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Veteran's Day, Thurs., Nov. 11, 2010 at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 at E. Harney Lane in Lodi.
