Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, Lignite, for Louis G. Hermanson, age 72, who died Oct. 29th at Lignite. Rev. Orlando Hash officiated, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Berg sang a duet and Elliott Grandall was organist and soloist. Pallbearers were Keith Hermanson, Gregory McEvers, Layne Hermanson, Rodney Hermanson, Earl Grandall and Allen Larson. Interment was in the Tonset Lutheran Cemetery, Lignite, with Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
He was born Aug. 26, in Vale Township, Burke County, where he was reared. He married Borghild Holte Nov. 23, 1929, at Estevan, Saskatchewan. They lived in Vale Township until 1948 when they moved to Lignite, but continued to farm. He was a member of the former Tonset Lutheran Church and later of Christ Lutheran Church.
Surviving Louis are his wife, a son, Leelyn, Lignite; daughters, Mrs. Allen (Shirley) McEvers, Lignite, and Mrs. Doug (Fay) McPhail, Grand Forks; four grandchildren; brothers, Helmer and Melvin, both Lignite and Karl, Columbus; and sisters, Mrs. Geneva Thompson, Columbus, Mrs. Gyda Ahre and Mrs. Gladys Spooner, both Lignite, Mrs. Mathild E Olson, Riverside, Calif., and Mrs. Lavina Jacobson, Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.
