Providence Journal (RI) - April 15, 1986

Stanley E. Ford, 89, of Tarkiln Road, owner of Ford 's Variety Store for 34 years, died Sunday at Fogarty Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth P (Howard) Ford.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late E. Thomas and Martha E (Bellows) Ford.

Mr. Ford attended Brown University. He had been associated with the Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Co. for many years. He was a member of the Universalist Church, Harrisville.

Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Blanche I. Rambone of Foster and Lillian P. Houghton of Smithfield; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the James L. Tucker Funeral Home, 649 Putnam Ave., Smithfield. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
