Mrs. Holmes died Sunday morning at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a short illness.
She was born in Martin and had lived in Jackson for the past five years. She was a retired employee of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service of Weakley County. She had recently been serving as a cashier at the Hut Restaurant.
She was a member of the Allen and Edgewood Church of Christ.
She leaves two sons, Don Holmes of Jackson and Larry Holmes of Huron; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry Copeland of Jackson; two brothers, Joe Higgs and James Higgs, both of South Fulton, KY. and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Neal Adams, Herschel Holmes, Billy Higgs, Ronnie Hickman, Ronald Griffin and Danny Blankenship.
