Mrs. Lillian Elizabeth Conrad Skeen, 93, a resident of East Sunrise Avenue, died Friday evening, July 20, 2012 at the Hospice Home at High Point. She was born October 19, 1918 in Davidson County, a daughter of Henry Estes Conrad and Hattie Dillon Conrad. She was a graduate of Fair Grove High School. Mrs. Skeen was a Homemaker and an active and lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church. She also served as a former Sunday School teacher, Youth Group Counselor, member of the Lutheran Church Women's Organization and the Alter Guild of the church. On September 21, 1940 she was married to Hal Skeen, who died April 30, 1973. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Edith Fowler and a brother Glenn Conrad. Surviving are daughters, Carolyn Skeen and Rachael Armentrout and husband Billy, both of Thomasville; a brother, Austin Conrad of Thomasville; grandchildren, David Armentrout of Orlando, Florida and Michael Armentrout and wife Sheila of Thomasville; great-grandchildren, Carson Armentrout and Cleveland Armentrout; nieces, Betsy Armfield, Judy Fleming, Sharon Sink, Jo Ann Latham and Nancy Hartley and a nephew, Eddie Conrad. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 11 A.M. in Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Jonathan Conrad officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Skeen will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until taken to the church at the service hour. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 8 P.M. The family request any memorial contributions be directed to Grace Lutheran Church (Roofing Fund) 115 Unity Street, Thomasville, N.C. 27360 or to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1803 Westchester Drive, High Point, N.C. 27262.
