After the death of her mother, she and her father moved to Haskell where she lived from 1924-1940. She was salutatorian of the Haskell High Class of 1935. Alberta served as deputy district clerk of Haskell county.
She and Joseph were married in Haskell, in 1937, and continued until moving to Fort Worth, and eventually Long Beach where they lived in the same house from 1948.
Alberta pursued a wide range of interests including the PTA, organized square dancing, and gardening. She worked for Rachelle Pharmaceuticals and J.C. Penny.
In later years Alberta's travels included visiting an Eskimo village in Alaska, and Zermatt in the Swiss Alps.
