Alice G. Behanna Hough, 87, of Redstone Highlands in Greensburg, formerly of Smithton, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006. She was born in West Newton on May 24, 1919, a daughter of the late Henry and Nellie Biddle Behanna. She was a member of Barren Run United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eugene D. Hough Sr., in 1996; two sons, John D. Hough, in 1968, and Gary L. Hough, in 2001; a grandson, Ronald H. Hough Jr., in 1970; and a great-grandson, Joseph Jay Hixson Jr., in 2001. She also was predeceased by brothers Eugene, Harry and Arthur Behanna; and a sister, Gail Harvey, and was the last surviving member of her family. Alice is survived by her daughter, Patty (Jay) Hixson, of Smithton; three sons, Eugene D. (Ann) Hough Jr., of Smithton, Ronald H. (Marie) Hough, of Scottdale, and Dennis J. Hough, of Mt. Pleasant, along with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the L.L. BARTHELS FUNERAL HOME, Smithton, where the funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Revs. Terry Trudgen and Herbert A. Peterson officiating. Burial will take place in Barren Run Cemetery, Smithton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Barren Run United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 793, Smithton, PA 15479.
