HERINGTON--Evelyn V. Stimac, 82, Herington, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 200, at a Herington hospital.
Mrs. Stimac worked for Woods Indusries in Kansas City until she retired in 1964. She also worked for Adlers and sang for KITE and WGN Radio stations in Chicago.
She was born July 5, 1918, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Edgar N. and Lula Mae Henry Birdsong. She graduated rom Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kan. in 1936. She moved to Herington in 1984.
Mrs.Stimac was a member of St. John's Caholic Church in Herington, and a former member of St. Peter's Cathedral and Christ the King Parish, both in Kansas City, Kan., where she was active in the altar societies.
She also delivered meals for Meals on Wheels.
She married Steve P. Stimac on Oct. 26, 1940, in Kansas City, Kan. He survives.
Other survivors include three sons: Jim, Kansas City, Kan., Larry, Plano, Texas, and John, Herington; two daughters, JoEllen Estenson, Butte, Mont., and Veronica Warson, Louisburg; a sister, Juanita west, Kansas City, Mo.;
12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church in Herington. Entombment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel in Kansas City, Kan.
