Girard John Brenneman, passed away August 31, 2004.
A lifelong lover of the liberal arts, Girard earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Class of 1940 and his Master in Letters from the University of Pittsburgh, Class of 1945. Girard's accomplishments extended beyond the world of letters. At an age when most men are thinking of retirement, Girard founded the Girard Fastener Company in South Holland. He continued to play an active role in his company as C.E.O. until his death. Previously, Girard worked as Vice President of Sales at Great Lakes Screw in Riverdale.
Girard followed 'The Road Less Traveled' and his example inspired others to do the same.
He was a generous and selfless man who always put his family first. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Jeryl, nee Shirk, of Frankfort; his daughters, Desta (John) Davis of Frankfort and Margaret (Tom) McFadden of Glendale, Arizona; his sons, Girard Brenneman, III of Greencastle, Indiana, Victor (Josie) Rotz of Ocala, Florida and Douglas (Lori) Rotz of Clermont, Florida; his grandchildren, Peyton Davis, Heather, Austin and Riley Rotz and Paul and Scott McFadden. Girard is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
