Conrad Oersted
Conrad Orestad, a Custer County Deputy Sheriff from 1955 to 1967, moved to Billings after retiring.
Mr. Orestad, 72, died Wednesday of a heart attack before arrival at Deaconess Hospital.
Born in Onalaska, WS., son of Ole and Martha Orestad, he also had worked on ranches and for the Milwaukee Road.
In 1943 he married Mildred Mau in Appleton, WS.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard of Sunnyvale, CA.; a daughter, Carol Vermersch of San Antonio, TX.; two brothers, William :Norman" Orestad of Sedro Woolley, WA., and Edward Orestad of Powderville, MT.,
three sister, Mrs. Gena Woodruff of Miles City, Marie Oddy of Sioux City, IW. and Anne Schinko of Milwaukee, WS.; and two grandsons.
Services will be in Miles City, MT., at 2 p.m. Monday from Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Custer County Cemetery, Miles City, MT.
