Francis "Junior" Vroman of West Chester, died on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr. He was 87.

Born in Blossburg, Francis was the son of the late Francis W. Vroman and Margaret May Powell.

He was the brother of Joan Cavuto and Leslie Vroman. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ellen "Sue" Dahlgren. He is the much loved father of Sheri Vroman Rainear and Scott Vroman. He is also survived by his three granddaughters, Amanda, Suzanne and Emma Rainear who affectionately called him Pa Pa.

Francis graduated from Mansfield University with a bachelor of science degree in secondary education after serving as an army sergeant in World War II's European Theater. After teaching high school English and history, he worked in the insurance industry until he retired in the late 1980s.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Nov. 23, at the Freeberg Funeral Home in Blossburg at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Arbon Cemetery in Blossburg.
