Evening Times; Cumberland, Maryland, Thursday, March 14, 1912: "Funeral Of Mr. White--The funeral of Mr. Richard White, whose remains arrived here Tuesday morning from Van Lear, Ky., took place yesterday morning from the home of Mr. Patrick Hoye, corner Taylor and Mechanic Sts. High mass the repose of his soul; he also the repose of his soul (transcribed as printed) and also preached an eloquent sermon on the necessity of always being prepared for death. Interment was in St Michael's cemetery. The funeral was attended by the Shield of Honor, of which order the deceased was a member. The pallbearers were: James Scoby, Geo. L. Kruetzburg, Samuel Porter, William Myers, Alexander Williams and Walter Porter. Those out of town who attended the funeral were: Thomas P. Kenny and William Fitzgerald of Cumberland, William Brown of Westernport, Peter Boyle of Mt. Savage, and William Condon and Martin Walters who accompanied the remains from Van Lear, Ky."
