Former Palm Beach resident and colorful socialite. Born in New York when she was 3 her mother moved to Beloit, Michigan, her hometown and she was adopted by her mother's new husband, Mon Fjelstad. After high school, the strikingly beautiful woman immediately moved back to New York and transformed herself from a small town Midwestern girl to a sophisticated city beauty, enrolling in the Powers Modeling School and changing her name to Gregg Sherwood, and her hair color from brown to platinum blond. After a brief first marriage ended, she returned to work as a model and actress in small roles on TV, stage and films. She played the role of a showgirl in 'The Merry Widow' with Fernando Lamas and Lana Turner.. Later reports erroneously described her as a showgirl. She is purported to have had 4 possibly five husbands and romances included Joe DiMaggio and Dean Martin. At age 28 she married Horace Dodge Jr., the 51 year old automobile heir. They moved to Palm Beach where she became active in charity and social scenes. Dodge divorced her in 1961 telling friends "I can't afford that woman anymore." Two years later she married Danny Moran, a former New York Police officer she had hired as a bodyguard. In 1978 she filed for bankruptcy after amassing $3.5 million in debt. A year later she was arrested for grand larceny after misappropriating money from her son's $8 million trust fund. Her son posted her bond. Eventually she pleaded guilty to taking $434,000 from her son which included $75,000 fraudulently obtained from a New York bank.

1st marriage annulled, 2nd marriage Walter Sherman (married July 1948 Atlantic City, divorced 1949 Mexico)
