Gunshot Wounds
Prove Fatal to
Carr L. Kivett
RAMSEUR, Aug. 16 - Gunshot wounds, which the county coroner, Dr. J. L. Fritz, said were self-inflicted, brought death early today to Carr L. Kivett, well known Randolph county farmer. Authorities said he shot himself shortly after breakfast this morning at his home about five miles west of Liberty. No reasons for his act were given.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Flossie McMasters; two daughters, Miss Pauline Kivett, of the home, and Mrs. James C. Hicks, Baltimore; son son, James C. Kivett, Baltimore; three half-sisters, Mrs. R. Aaron Custer and Mrs. Maggie Lane, both of Greensboro, and Mrs. G. A. Kimrey, route 1, Staley, and two half-brothers, John and George Kivett, both of Colorado.
Funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at Shady Grove Baptist church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be moved to the home Monday afternoon.
