Douglas "A"Allred 1902 ~ 2002 BOUNTIFUL - Douglas "A" Allred died peacefully in his sleep at his home December 27, 2002. He was born Sept 24, 1902 in Caldwell, Alberta, Canada to Isaac Willard and Helena Chloe Anderson Allred who had immigrated to Southern Alberta with their six children. Douglas and three brothers were born in Canada. Married Ivy May Skipworth Sept 3, 1925 in the Alberta Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ivy, his wife of 69 years, preceded him to an eternal glory in 1994. Their posterity includes four children, Gordon (Kathleen), Bountiful, Mona Lunceford (Clyde), Orem, Douglas (Geri), Bountiful, Marilyn Bennett (Phil), South Jordan; 16 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren. They served an LDS mission (East London) together in the late 1960s after he retired from his profession as a public school administrator and teacher. Douglas also served his church as a teacher, superintendent, bishop's councilor, and high councilor. He was very active in Boy Scouts as a leader and council official in Canada, and also organized several community and school sports leagues including hockey, football, and baseball, as well as drama and musical events. Douglas served his country in the 2nd world war, as a navigation officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Services, conducted by Bishop Charles E. Hall, will be 12 noon Tues. Dec 31, 2002 Orchard 7th Ward Chapel, 3599 S. Orchard Dr, Bountiful. View-ing, Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful 6:30-8 p.m. Mon. and 11 a.m. Tues. Relief Society room at the chapel on Orchard. Interment, Bountiful Cemetery, 2224 S. 200 W, Bountiful, UT. Contributions may be made to the Primary Children's Medical Center, 100 N.
