"John Gage, who died of burns received in a fire which destroyed his home at Brainerd, was born on a farm one-half mile east of the Wyattville store, the son of Al and Sadie Gage. They lived where the house owned by Mrs. Florence Considine now stands. The family left here several years ago. Four of Mr. Gage's children lost their lives in the fire. Mr. and Mrs. Gage came here on their wedding trip eight years ago to visit their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sommers and Robert and George Hall and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sommers, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fleming and Mrs. Robert Hill went to Brainerd to remain until after the funeral of Mr. Gage and his sons.
