An obituary published in the Herald and Review for Ethel F. Kimmel, 97, of Decatur, formerly of Shelbyville states she had died January 6, 1997 in the home of her daughter. She was born in Shelbyville on Sept. 4, 1899, the daughter of Homer and Agnes Knecht Corley. She married Clarence Kimmel in Shelbyville on March 15, 1921. He preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1963. Surviving were her son, Elmer Kimmel and wife Vicki of Coal Valley; daughter, Pauline Woolums and husband Eldon of Decatur; sister, Pearl Richardson of Adrian, Mich.; brother, Clarence Corley of San Marcos, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Virginia Ione Kimmel, sisters, Fern Finks and Forrest Finks, and brother, Kenneth Corley. She lived in Shelbyville until she sold her home in June of 1994 and moved to Decatur to live with her daughter and husband. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Decatur, White Shrine of Jerusalem 52, Order of the Eastern Star 69 and Rose Home Extension Unit, all of Shelbyville.
