Resident Dies
Josef Albrecht, 89, Passes
Sunday; Was Retired
Lincoln Farmer

Josef Albrecht, 89, one of Algoma's most elderly residents, died at his Jefferson street home Sunday night. He had been in poor health the past two years. Old age complications caused his death. Mr. Albrecht moved to Algoma from Kewaunee six years ago, but before his one-year residence in Kewaunee had farmed in the Town of Lincoln. For many years he served the Gregor district as school clerk. He was born Mar. 14, 1861, in Jelemice, Bohemia, and came to this country in 1875, at the age of 14. The family lived in the Two Rivers vicinity until in 1878 when they moved to Lincoln town. Mr. Albrecht married Miss Josephine Stangel Nov. 16, 1892, and she survives with four sons, Adolph, Green Bay, Joseph, jr., Lincoln, William, Algoma, and Vena, Kewaunee, and a daughter, Mrs. John (Pauline) Romdenne, Kewaunee. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Anton, Manitowoc, and Louis, Green Bay, and one sister, Mrs. Josephine Shimek, Chicago. Two daughters, Clara Libby and Mrs. Raymond (Mary) Blahnik, and a son, Charles, preceded the father in death. The funeral was held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic church and burial was in the Evergreens. Arrangements were taken care of by Wiesner-Massart Funeral home.
