Jacob Rahlfs suffered a paralytic stroke Sunday while out at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Wulf, and death resulted yesterday. The body was brought here today and the funeral will be held from his residence on west Grant street at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, Rev. A.W. Lambrecht officiating, if he can be secured. He lived but a little over three months after the death of his wife, who passed away Nov. 16th last. Mr. Rahlfs was born in Germany August 9th, 1850, and was, therefore, 73 years of age. He came to this country when a young man and was married to Margaret Wrich on May 19th, 1880. They settled first on a farm near Arlington, which was their home until they moved to this city in 1906. Five children were born to them, two dying in infancy. The living are Mrs. George Wulf, Herman Rahlfs of this county, and Mrs. Fred Stange, of Omaha. He leaves one brother, Gus, of Texas. Mr. Rahlfs was always a hard worker and made a success of life. He was a good neighbor or citizen and will live long in the memory of many friends.

JACOB RAHLFS DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER
Jacob Rahlfs died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Wulf, near Arlington on Tuesday, February 27, 1923, from a paralytic stroke.
Deceased was born in Germany 73 years ago and had been a resident of Washington county for many years and was engaged in farming near Orum. Several years ago he retired from the farm and with his wife came to Blair to spend his declining years. His companion passed away several months ago and since that time he has spent part of his time with his children.
Funeral services will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Wulf Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Mr. Lambrecht of Lyons.
