Andrew August Herber, 89, of Port Huron Township, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012.

He was born April 16, 1923 in Port Huron to Alexander and Pauline Herber and was a lifelong area resident. He married Patricia Lasher on January 31, 1948. She died July 3, 2005.

Mr. Herber was an auto repairman with Herber Collision and Shepherd Lincoln Mercury. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed hunting, taking drives in his car, and traveling.

He is survived by four children, Peg (Gene) Stone, Scott (Nancy) Herber, Marsha (Richard) LaVere and Rebecca Herber; grandchildren, Jason (Lori) Zavitz, Jr., Matthew Silver, Blake Stuart, Beverly (Kevin) Dailey, Scott (Kyunga) Herber, Wendy (John) Antrosiglio and Leslie (Kevin) Bilyea; and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by siblings, Alex, Henry, Molly, Chris, Tracey, Caroline and Elizabeth.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 in Trinity Lutheran Church. The Reverend CJ Ransdell will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
