Born in South Coventry, CT., she married June 10, 1891, had 7 children and lived 83 years. She was an outstanding botanist for New York State and was a mentor for her daughter who became a noted doctor and Adirondack naturalist. A book written by her granddaughter http://www.amazon.com/Doc-Phelps-Adirondack-Naturalist-Mountaineer/dp/0925168661 tells a fascinating story about the family.
Her husband Charles worked for a time at the Unniversity of Connecticut where this cemetery is located.
And this from Jack Parker:
She is the author of "When I was a girl in the Martin Box" 1949. An interesting look at farm life in the late 19th century.
