From Lincoln-Lawrence-Franklin Regional Library, Brookhaven, Ms., microfilm roll 139, page 3, Under "Fair River Notes" dated 10/29/1891 for Mrs. J. S. Burns.
The entire community mourns the loss of Mrs. J. S. Burns. She died on the 16th. Every body knew her as a Christian and as rare as the case is, no one knows any faults of her. She was buried at the Grange Hall graveyard, her Pastor Rev. J. H. Gambrell , officiating. As we looked on her pale face, we could all but hear the words "God be with you until we meet again".
