JOHN BUTCHER DIES
John Butcher, 78, and a resident on the same farm at Gladwin since coming to Iowa about 75 years ago, died at 8:30 Friday morning after a lingering illness. Mr. Butcher was born at Waverly Ohio, July 12, 1855, and came to Gladwin when four years of age. He was united in marriage to Miss Sarah E. Wilcox, Feb. 20, 1879. She died Jan. 13, 1903. His second marriage was to Mrs. Mary Emmons, March 16, 1911. She survives him and the following children: Mrs. Ethel Emmons of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Mary Edwards and Samuel A. Butcher of Armstrong, Ia., and Miles O. Butcher of Chicago, a step-son, Earl H. Emmons, of New York City, and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Burial will be in the Foster cemetery.
