Death of Mrs. Hancock
Mrs. Lizzie Hancock, who was the widow of "Uncle" Perry Hancock, who was quite an aged lady, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Fannie Pierce, Cane Valley, last Tuesday night. The interment was in the Hancock burying ground, a few miles north of Columbia. The deceased was the granddaughter of the first sheriff of Adair County, Benjamin Bowmar. She was a fine woman and will be greatly missed.
