His bricks were used to construct the First Baptist Church in Richmond where he was a deacon (now Hunton Hall, the student center for the Virginia Commonwealth University). His son, T.C. Williams, and grandson, Adolph Dill Williams, were two of the wealthiest tobacconists in Richmond.
