- John Dean, Sr., aged 71 years yesterday, January 13, died this morning (Jan 14) at 7:30 o'clock in his home 1104 Meadow Avenue, Charleroi, PA, following a lingering illness. Mr. Dean has been a resident of Charleroi for many years and was very well known throughout this vicinity, and was held in high esteem by his many friends. He had been secretary of the Brick Layers' Union, Local No. 20, for the past 20 years.
- His wife (Margaret) having died three years ago; he is survived by the following sons and daughters, John Dean, Jr., William Dean, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Kendrick, Mrs. Richard "Peter" (Elizabeth) Johns and Mrs. Alex (Ethel) Williams, all of Charleroi, along with Mrs. Samuel (Sarah) Claybaugh and Mrs. Joseph (Phylis) Liptow of Ford City.
- Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from his late home with Rev. R.J. Shields of the First Presbyterian church in charge. Interment in Belle Vernon cemetery.
