Mary Lou was born to Nicholas and Alberta (Loper) Forret. Mary grew up in Dallas County, attended Van Meter middle schools and graduated from East High School in Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Thelma Forret and Catherine Powell.
She is survived by her daughter, Shawn (Daryl) Raasch of Adair; three sisters, Betty (Doyle) O'Leary of Johnston, Barbara Moorehead of Fontanelle and Cindy (Dean)Walker of Bouton; two grandchildren and one great-grandson; five nieces and three nephews.
