James Everett Allen, 36, formerly of Elkhorn, died suddenly of a heart attack at 2 p.m., Monday June 14, at his home in Louisville. Funeral services were held yesterday at 3 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Elkhorn. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Gene Puckett was in charge of the services, assisted by Dr. J. Chester Badgett and Rev. D.L. Druien. James Everett Allen, son of Jim and Maggie Brockman Allen, was born July 18, 1917 in Taylor County, Ky. He professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Elkhorn Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge. He united in marriage to Miss Lena Mae Phillips on May 17, 1941 and to this union two children were born; Barbara Dean and Larry Keith. Survivors include his wife and children, and his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Allen, Elkhorn. Allen was in the used car business in Louisville and lived at 1280 Everett Avenue. Pallbearers were: Johnny Allen, Talbot Allen, Joe Allen, Paul Allen, Oran Williams, Jack Brockman
