CHARLES R. FARABAUGH, 91, of Carrolltown, passed away at Miners Medical Center surrounded by his family. Born in Carrolltown, PA, son of Cletus and Candace (Mackey) Farabaugh. Preceded in death by parents; wife: Alice M. (Sharbaugh) Farabaugh, in 1996, and brother: Donald Farabaugh.
Survived by children; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles was the last surviving member of his immediate family. A graduate of Carrolltown High School. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served as Chief Petty Officer in the Pacific Theater. He worked at the Springfield Four Coal Mine in Spangler, after the Navy. Retired from Beth Energy Mine 33, Ebensburg, PA, in 1982.
