Josiah Cook Sr. 1610-1673 was Richard Cook's Grandfather a lot has been added that is not correct about Josiah Cook Sr. Francis Cook was not a relative of Josiah Cook! He served on a jury over a Francis Cook case, Relative's could not do that ever. The Benjamin Cook's family Bible of 1832 states that his father Miles Cook dad, Thomas Cook Jr. was of Welch ancestry as did Thomas Bishop Cook's 1796- family Bible 1850's. I was told this by Harold Cook of Wichita Kansas as well from Thomas Bishop Cook's Bible I ignored it until my brother's, we are Cook's DNA test came back Celtic going back the DNA timeline of migration's Wales Cook is not a welch name but Josiah must had parents or grand parents from Wales who as many did changed the family name from Welch to English to fit in. I will try to include a few records to these things. I personal believe from decades of research Josiah arrived on the ship William in march 1633 from England not Holland! got in a sword fight which is on record, and was as the 1633 tax record states was a Yeomen and free man.
