Rebecca G Bridenbaugh

Of Greensville, Pa., died Monday
at 10:40 p.m. in the Grumbell
Hospital, Warren, Ohio. She was
born in Hollidaysburg on Sept. 8,
1885, a daughter of James and
Harriett (Appleman) Gifford, and
married Carl G. Bridenbaugh,
who died in 1939. She is survived
by a son, Carl of Greensville; a
sister, Mrs. Jesse Hunter of
Charles Town, W. Va.; four grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Bridenbaugh was a member
of the United Church of Christ,
Hollidaysburg. From 1927 and
1928 she and her husband were
in charge of the Blair County
Home for the Aged. In 1929 Mr.
Bridenbaugh became superintendent
of the Williamsburg Children's
Home and Mrs. Bridenbaugh assumed
the position of matron, a
post she held after his death until
1944. From then until her retirement
she worked in the county
commissioners' office at Hollidaysburg.

Friends will be received in
the Bolger Funeral Home, Martinsburg,
from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
