VADA I. WALTERS

Vada I. Walters, age 94, of Clare, passed away on April 25,1997, at her home.

She was born on Dec. 7, 1903, in Gilmore Township of Isabella County, the daughter of Melvin P. and Elsie (Owens) Brasington. She married Arden Walters on August 15, 1923, at Mt. Pleasant, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1978.

Mrs. Walters was a life-long resident of the Clare area. She and her husband owned and operated the Corner Store in Clare as well as farmed. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clare.

Surviving are one son, Zane and Barbara Walters of Midland; two daughters, Ardene Wild and Carol Allen, both of Clare; 25 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased a son, Dale, a grandson, one brother, and six sisters.

Funeral services were held on April 28 in the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, Clare, with Pastor Douglas Blackwell officiating. Burial was in the Cherry Grove Cemetery at Clare.
