On August 6, 1925 in St. Francis she married Philip William Raile. She was a farmers wife/homemaker and raised 2 daughters. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress and crocheted many beautiful doilys, tablecloths and afghans.
Even tho their house was not real big they hosted many dinners and get-to-getters. Lydia, being one of 11 children and Philip being one of 16 children there was never a shortage of family stopping by.
Lydia and her sister Erna spent many times together; making noodles, angel food cakes, baking breads, etc. When it was chicken butchering day at Erna and Rudy's farm, she was always there, bringing her favorite butcher knife and ready to help.
Lydia and Erna also enjoyed going to Denver and staying with Erna's daughter for a few days, having fun shopping, cooking and making quilts.
Whenever we were home for a week-end, Aunt Lydia always came to visit at Moms and would always tell us to stop by on our way back to Denver. Sometimes it was a coffee can of cookies, maybe a dollar or a little book of dimes.....whatever it was, she always made our boys feel special.
Lydia passed away at age 81.
