"Norman E. Senefeld"
Norman E. Senefeld, 84, of Brookville died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.
Born May 24, 1921 in Franklin County, he was the son of the late John and Mary Ward Senefeld.
He lived most of his life in Franklin County and retired in 1987 from Franklin County National Bank where he had been employed for a number of years.
A U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Bernard Hurst Post 77 of the American Legion. He was also a member of the former Sheriff's Mounted Patrol.
Survivors include three daughters, Mabel Abbott of Hamilton, Ohio, Judy Mason of Leesburg, Ohio and Mary Ellen Pierce of Brookville; three stepdaughters, Linda Gaston and Cinda Meyers, both of Brookville, and Karen McHaffey of Richmond; a stepson, Tom Cooley of Brookville; two sisters, Martha Zerr of Florida and Marietta Bridenhager of Franklin, Ind.; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and several great-stepgrandchldren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lucille Stegner Senefeld in 1974; his second wife Phyllis J. Reese Senefeld in 2002; a brother, Robert Senefeld, and a grandson, Richard Gaston.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Ave., Brookville, with the Rev. Malcolm B. Grene officiating. Burial and military graveside services conducted by the Barnard Hurst Post 77 of the American Legion will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may visit today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
