Coye was retired from Y-12 in Oak Ridge. Member of the Masonic Lodge in Loudon and former member of Knoxville Track Club. Preceded in death by his parents: Ernest and Susie (Cagle) Blankenship; brothers, Cabe and Cecil; and sisters, Margie Wilcox and Myrtle Reece. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie (Rogers) Blankenship, Loudon; daughter and son in-law, Deanna and Scott Swiney; granddaughter, Sarah Swiney and fiancée, Josh Nunnally; grandson, Nicholas Swiney; brothers, Ernest Jr., and Johnny Blankenship; sisters, Bobbie Grimes and Benita Fox; many nieces and nephews. Services honoring and remembering the life of Coye Blankenship will be held 6:00 PM Saturday, July 14th in the McGill-Karnes Chapel, Rev. Marty Singley officiating.
