BLANKENSHIP, COYE C - age 72 of Loudon, passed away July 12 in Dayton, Tennessee.
Coye was retired from Y-12 in Oak Ridge. Member of the Masonic Lodge in Loudon and former member of Knoxville Track Club. Preceded in death by his parents: Ernest and Susie (Cagle) Blankenship; brothers, Cabe and Cecil; and sisters, Margie Wilcox and Myrtle Reece. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie (Rogers) Blankenship, Loudon; daughter and son in-law, Deanna and Scott Swiney; granddaughter, Sarah Swiney and fiancée, Josh Nunnally; grandson, Nicholas Swiney; brothers, Ernest Jr., and Johnny Blankenship; sisters, Bobbie Grimes and Benita Fox; many nieces and nephews. Services honoring and remembering the life of Coye Blankenship will be held 6:00 PM Saturday, July 14th in the McGill-Karnes Chapel, Rev. Marty Singley officiating. Contributions in memory of Coye may be made to one of the following Scholarship Funds to benefit graduating students of Loudon High School; The Charlie Paul Chihasz Scholarship or the Henry Blackburn Scholarship, P.O. Box 301, Loudon, TN 37774. The family wishes to express gratitude to the Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Eason and Dr. Logan and the 2nd Floor Staff of Rhea County Hospital for their care.
