Robert M. Sprigg
Robert M Sprigg, 68, departed this life on February 12, 2011, at his home in Flatwoods surrounded by family, following a three and half year battle with melanoma.
He was born in Flatwoods on March 4, 1942, the son of M Carr and Irene Berry Sprigg, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Carolyn R Kniceley Sprigg, whom he married on October 22, 2000. He is also survived by three stepchildren, Denver Kniceley, Crystal Gillespie, and Charity Woods. Also surviving him are several cousins, with whom he shared childhood memories of growing up at Holly, and visiting his grandparents’ home in Flatwoods.
Robert was a faithful member of Sutton Baptist Church, a member of the Flatwoods Town Council, and a member of Flatwoods-Heaters Lion Club. He was owner of RM Sprigg Wood Shop in Flatwoods.
