GARFIELD - George S. Blackwell, 71, died Tuesday at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Larned, after a short illness. Born June 8, 1901, at Larned, he married Ruth Parker Aug. 14, 1924, at Larned. He was a farmer and lived here since 1939.
Survivors include the widow; sons: Richard, Salina, James, Dodge City; brothers: Dave, Great Bend, Everett, Larned, Fred, Dodge City; sisters: Mrs. Ed Brown, Mrs. Conard Spreier, Mrs. Emory Elmore and Mrs. Kenneth Friend, Larned; nine grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary, Larned; Rev. Walter Hargraves. Burial will be in Garfield Cemetery.
