He was born December 28, 1935 in Hermitage, a son of the late Noah H. Corbin and Cathleen Coiner Corbin.
He attended Wilson Memorial High School, entered the U.S. Army, and later the U.S. Army Reserves.
Mr. Corbin was a retiree from Wayn-Tex.
He was a member of Hermitage Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Baker.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Reba Corbin of Waynesboro; 2 sons, Raymond R. Corbin, Jr. and his wife Linda, and Steven W. Mays both of Waynesboro; 3 daughters, Rebecca S. Fisher of Waynesboro, Pamela D. Ocheltree and her husband T.P. of Staunton, Michelle C. Raines of Waynesboro; 13 grandchildren, Tiffany Raines, Blayne Brown, Courtney Brown, Christina Fisher, Jonathan Fisher, Jessica Elliott, Sarah Corbin, Missy Campbell, Stephanie Harris, Jennifer Shirley, Ashley Rudine, Dave Critzer, and Katelin Ocheltree; 19 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Landon, Kayla, Tyler, Ozzy, Savannah, Haley, Jayda, Peyton, Hunter, Kegan, Cole, Andrea, Dezi, Kalli Rae, Lanie, Zach, Kaelynn, and Logan; 1 brother, James A. Corbin of Fairbanks, Alaska; and 1 sister, Doris C. Gray and her husband Everett of Waynesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday July 8, 2012 at McDow Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday July 9, 2012 in the chapel of McDow Funeral Home by Rev. H. Wray Sherman, III. As were his wishes, his body will be cremated following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions be made directly to the funeral home to help with their expenses.
