Dr. Leon Hudson Cook served as a Private First Class and Surgical Assistant, Company A, 349th Field Artillery, Sanitary Detachment, U.S. Army during World War I.

Prior to entering the service he attended Howard University and attained two degrees: The Degree of Bachelor of Arts in 1913 and a second degree as a Dental Surgeon in 1917. Leon resided in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware prior to the war.

Leon "Died Of Disease"as a result of his service during the war.
