Elmer Joseph Beckman was born April 15, 1925, in rural Wheeler, son of Bernard 'Ben'and Frances Koestner Beckman. He married Thrasilla Kocher October 26, 1957, in Stringtown.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years; children, Elaine (Frank) Schumacher, Burnel (Cathy) Beckman and Aaron (Catherine) Beckman; grandhildren, Theresa Schumacher, Matthew (Cheryl) Schumacher, Maria Schumacher, Laura Beckman, Bryan Beckman, Lily Beckman and Zachary Beckman and sister, Verena Brumleve.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter,Reatha; grandson, Lawrence Schumacher; brother, Jerome and sisters, Ethel Burmleve and Blanche Probst.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
