Henry Elmer was born in Evangeline, LA. on October 14, 1926 to the late Armand Gay and the late Alberta Goodeau Gay. He served his country in combat in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Mr. Henry was a retired pipeline fitter for Colonial Pipe Line. He enjoyed watching TV, hunting and fishing and being an usher for Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. He also enjoyed running errands for Bernadette Gay's School of Dance.
He is survived by his son, Curtis Gay of Jennings; daughter, Bernadette Hammack and her husband Bob of Lafayette ; grandchildren , Amy, Brandy, Jamie Gay and Bella Hammack; great grandchildren, Raven Gay, Sadie Perry, Nevaeh and Allie Gay and 2 brothers, John Gay of Crowley and Bobbie Gay of Jennings.
Mr. Gay was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hilda "Billie" Gay; sister, Zena Guidry and brother , W. D. Decker.
