Graves.
Nancy Ann Utterback was born April 2, 1825, in Boone Co , Ky. She came with her parents to Missouri when she was a small child, and grew up on a farm South of Salt River.
She was married to William H. Graves Jan. 11, 1844, at the age of 19. To this union ten children were born. Seven of these are still living, four boys and three girls. They are: Mrs. T. M. Maddox and H. M. Graves of this city; Mrs. Nannie Kelsoe of Mexico; Mrs. Mrs. Laura Ogle of Texas; Mrs. Minnie Morowitz of Michigan; T. T. Graves of Hannibal, and John A. Graves of Camp Point, Ill.
She and her husband lived on their farm on the Paris gravel road for 57 years. She was converted and united with the Baptist church when quite young and she has been a faithful and consistent member ever since.
She departed this life July 14, 1913. She has been a patient sufferer for a long time. Her husband preceded her to their heavenly home about 8 years ago, and since then she has patiently waited for the Master's summons. The First Baptist church of Monroe City has lost its oldest member. The town has lost her oldest citizen, and her children have lost for a little while their best earthly friend. May they all meet her in the Home land is our prayer.
Mrs. Graves died Monday afternoon. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Maddox Hotel by Rev. Sam P. Gott, pastor of First Baptist church. Interment was at Providence church cemetery near Withers Mills yesterday morning.
