She was born March 27, 1926, to Beulah Shank and Ivo Phend.
Ethel graduated from South Park High School in 1942. She was a program technician in the ASCS office for the United States Department of Agriculture and a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, and baking pies.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Erickson; daughter, Judy Holmes and her husband, Jim; sons, Walter Erickson, Jr., Robert Erickson and Wayne Erickson and his wife, Joy; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and brother, Ivo Phend, Jr. and his wife, Patsy.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis Peebles; brothers, Russel Phend, Robert Phend, and Richard Phend; and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Erickson.
