Born in Manhattan to Italian immigrants Michael and Antoinette Savino-Palumbo of the Bronx, Dominick Palumbo, of Buffalo, New York, died in a hospital in Buffalo after ailing for months due to complications caused by diabetes.

Dominick Palumbo was born at home on Friday, September 16, 1910 and died in Millard Fillmore Hospital, in Buffalo, New York on Friday, May 6, 1988 at the age of 78 from a heart attack caused by heart, kidney and respiratory failure due to complications from hypertension and diabetes. Dominick had long standing heart and renal failure directly related to diabetes and hypertension.

He was admitted to the Millard Fillmore Hospital on February 18, 1988 and was there almost three months prior to his death. He suffered from respiratory failure. During his stay at Millard Fillmore Hospital, Dominick's leg was amputated due to diabetic complications.

Dominick was survived by his only child, his beloved son Donald L. Palumbo and his daughter-in-law, Rose Simonetti-Palumbo, of Hopatcong, New Jersey, his cherished grandson Donald Michael Palumbo and his wife Clair of Hackettstown, New Jersey, his granddaughter Christine A. Palumbo-Ciacco and her husband Luke of Miami, Florida and his treasured great-granddaughter Gina Marie Palumbo.

He was also survived by his former wife Maria or Margaret Fariello-Celli of the Bronx and many nieces and nephews.

Dominick was predeceased by his devoted parents and his loved older brothers Philip, Leonardo, Perry and Angelo Palumbo of the Bronx.
