He and his extended family arrived in Palmyra township June 23, 1871.
Parents were Andreas Jönsson of Kollen, Sintorp 4, Landa Parish and Stina Berntsdotter of Kullen, Frillesås Parish, Halland, Sweden. Father Andreas lived with Bernt in Palmyra until he died.
