Joint Funeral Services Set For County Couple

MORRISDALE - Joint funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock for Mr. and Mrs. Willard James Rothrock of Morrisdale R.D.

Mrs. Emma Pearl Rothrock, 68, died yesterday afternoon in the Philipsburg State General Hospital as a result of a stroke suffered Tuesday when her husband died of a heart attack.

Mr. Rothrock, 71, was stricken by a fatal attack at 8:15 a.m. while sitting in a chair in his home after mowing the lawn.

His wife called to neighbors for help when he fell from the chair. When the neighbors reached the Rothrock home they found Mr. Rothrock dead and Mrs. Rothrock unconscious as the result of the stroke. Her condition was regarded as critical from the first.

She was the former Emma Pearl Williams. She was born at Morrisdale R.D. Sept. 13, 1893. The couple was married July 4, 1911. Both were members of the Summit Hill Evangelical United Brethren church.

The following three children survive their parents: Mrs. Thomas (Esther) Dunkle and Mrs. Arthur (Elizabeth) Emigh, both of Morrisdale R.D.; and James Rothrock, Wallaceton.

Sixteen grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and the following three brothers survive Mrs. Rothrock: Willard Williams, Morrisdale; Raymond, Fresno, Calif.; Chester, Morrisdale R.D.

The Rev. Homer Smith will officiate at the double services tomorrow afternoon at the William W. Strange Home for Funerals at Morrisdale. Burial will be in the Summit Hill Cemetery. Friends are being received at the funeral home.
