Elias Conger who resided on a farm 4 1/2 miles south of this city, in Pleasant township, died at 1:00 o'clock yesterday afternoon after an illness with consumption from which he had suffered since the first of February. He leaves a family of seven children, four boys and three girls. His wife died about 15 years ago and since that time he has lived with his children several of whom are still at home. Funeral services were held this morning at 11:00 o'clock at Wesley Chapel, being conducted by the pastor, Reverend Seeds, of Cincinnati, and the remains were laid to rest in the Cincinnati cemetery. Mr. Conger was a son of E. G. and Rebecca Conger who came to this part of Iowa in an early day. He was past 60 years of age and had always stood high in the estimation of all who knew him. He was a member of the M. E. church and lived a life most consistent with his profession of Christianity.
