Bryce William Gates passed away at home on July 7, 2012 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Salina, UT. March 24, 1921 to William Clayton Gates and Dorthia Poulson Gates. Bryce married his sweetheart Audrey Roine Kelson January 2, 1946, in Salt Lake City, UT. Bryce was a Veteran of WWII where he served as a medic, he worked at Kennecott Copper as a refinery worker for 30 years. He also worked at Emerson Elementary as a crossing guard for 15 years which became a real passion in his life.
Bryce lead a very full and happy life with his wife Roine in Salt Lake City with their 4 children (Perry, Linda, Pam and Bill). He enjoyed fishing and camping at Fish Lake, Freemont River and many others, he loved to watch old western movies but mostly he loved spending time with his family.
Bryce is preceded in death by: his parents William and Dorthia Gates, brothers Donald and Phillo Gates, loving wife Audrey Roine Gates and grandchildren JoAnn Carston Gates, Aubrey Kindig, Casen Kimball, Christine Kimball and William Kimball. Bryce is surrvived by: sisters Elna Hampton, Bobbie (Barbara) Morwood, children Perry Gates (Carol), Linda Beverley (Pat), Pam Gates and Bill Gates (Beth), 17 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday July 11, at the Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd.
