Matthew Cobb, 74 years, 1 month, 4 weeks of Eagan, Tennessee, left this life and entered into the presence of the Living God on Saturday, July 7th, 2012 at the Jellico Community Hospital.

He was born to the late Silas and Edna Mae Hatfield Cobb on May 8th, 1938 in Bell County Kentucky.

He attended school at Tiny's Branch, Bell County, Kentucky and was married to Pasty Ann Grady on January 3, 1958. They lived together in Goshen, Ohio, until returning to Eagan, Tennessee in 1989.

Mathew was a deacon and faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Pruden, Kentucky. He retired from General Motors in Norwood, Ohio after 30 years of service, never having one day counted against him as being absent. He loved his church and attending services, fishing, gardening, hunting, metal detecting, old cars, hunting ginseng, and talking with family and friends . He is described by his family and friends as "one of the very best, a good, old feller, and a great man."

Mathew is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Ann Grady Cobb His daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Gary Hatmaker of Williamsburg, Kentucky. His son and daughter-in-law, Mathew Jr. and Felicia Cobb of Clairfield, Tennessee. Three grandchildren, whom he loved dearly and were the light of his life, Nephy Lambdin of Jellico, Tennessee Cheyenne Cobb of Eagan, Tennessee and Silas Mathew Cobb of Eagan, Tennessee Two Sisters, Florence King and husband, Charles of Frakes, Kentucky and Pauline Rowland and husband Claudie of Goshen, Ohio.

And a multitude of family, friends and loved one to mourn his passing.

Mathew was preceeded in death by his son, Michael Edd Cobb Father, Silas Cobb Mother, Edna Mae Hatfield Cobb Step Mother, Dora Cobb Brothers - Kay Cobb John Cobb Chester Cobb Wayland Cobb Jimmy Davis and Edward Davis Sisters - Ethel Cobb Marie Sproule and Jessie Higginbothom

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lonnie Maiden, Rev. Billy Joe Lowe and Mr. Jim Hatmaker presiding.

Interment will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at the Kemplen Cemetery in Egan, TN

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, at the Creech Funeral Home.
